In the strictest sense, it’s not Christmas. That doesn’t hit until January 7th (yeah, some of us are old-school when it comes to our calendars. Orthodox represent, yo.). But, I did want to take a moment to thank folks for their support this year.
- My Wife – Because she’s been my number one fan this whole, rough year.
- The Germantown Writer’s Guild – For helping keep me on track and acting as a support vent for writing woes
- Devil’s Luck Gaming, WyldCatDera, and StarkRavingRiley – my favorite RPG and gaming streamers, who punch above their weight in production values and inspire me with their grit ever day.
- Morgan Hazelwood, Sako Tumi, and Doc – for the writing sprint support every Sunday.
- WorldCon’s Programming Team – for inviting me onto several panels after I convinced them I was a real writer
- Zombies Need Brains – Who started a NOIR anthology and thought “Hey, let’s invite that Andy guy who’s always going on about Noir on Saturday nights”
And everyone else who’s taking the time to keep me healthy and sane.
Next year will be rough. After the 2022 election (when certain pale folks stay home) and the 2024 return of the orange one, we’re going to sink further into the Apple Store Apartheid Pandemic Cyberpunk world 40+ % of Americans seem to want.
We are tired, but we need to keep fighting. Keep creating. Keep showing folks how to resist with our stories. Defy the default narrative.
Remember:
