It’s gonna be WHAT? No, wait, it’s still April

First and foremost, I wish to protest the fact April in the DMV feels more like August.  Second, I do like this chair – but so does Tellus:

But, I have some updates to my 2024 non-writing and photography list:

  • Have learned recipes! And helped with dinner! Without causing illness within the family!
  • Adding ten minutes of walking to my day – and my weekends will often have a bit of walking in the woods as part of my photography
  • Household items (Chimney, Flooring, and display cases are done)
    • Re: Display cases – had to order more. I’ve got a lot of collectables. And this was before the birthday Lego ornithopter.

As for the writing? It’s been an interesting month of ups and downs. I’ve finished off a short story I quite like, and am now sending it around as part of my 50 rejections of 2024 effort. Have racked up three so far. Maybe at some point, this surreal little tale will find a home. I’ve also begun pushing myself to finish edits on my Phantoms novel. My goal is to have a revised draft done before Glasgow 2024 (which still needs planning). I’ve also got my name in for the Glasgow programming.

But my alter egotist, A.J. Harris? Oh, they’ve had a much better month.

I was recently invited to contribute to an erotica anthology based on two previous short stories I’ve submitted. It’s not an assured placement, but it immediately got me thinking about the theme, the story, and what I’d love to discuss in this tale. But, also, a story I’d previously sent over to a Boys Behaving Badly anthology was selected. So, A.J. Harris’ tale “Secret Garden” will be joining others in the anthology Secret Identities.

This will make my 5th anthology appearance as A.J. Harris. I’m still a little stunned.

What’s next? Well, I have edits, a story to write, a ton of photos from a vacation to clean up, and the day job. It’s gonna be a busy May.
