Goodnight, Balticon 59!

Another Balticon is in the books! This was an amazing con filled with great panels, lively discussions, surprising siren songs, very cool room parties, chances to catch up with people – And DATA PIRACY! Seriously, check out the amazing Data Pirate I ran into.

I was on a shocking number of panels for a late blooming author but I got to share the spotlight with a lot of great authors, poets, and content creators. This post is all about giving them a shout-out.

First and foremost, thank you to Zack Be and  Lee Hawkridge, who put up with me moderating “Pitch Your Idea for a SFFH TV Show.” The fact Zack’s Quantum Library and Lee’s Baelor Falls are not in production is a loss, and shows why we’re no longer in a golden age of good television.

Next, thank you to Miguel O. Mitchell, PhD, Mark Painter, Scott Edelman (who brought cookies) and Ian Randal Strock for being absolute stars during our Short Fire Readings panel.

And a very big thank you to Doc Coleman for suborning myself, C.D. Brown, and CosplayOnWords for Dirty Mad Libs! Also, thank you to whomever suggested “Velveeta” as a processed food.

And all the amazing folks who moderated and elevated all the panels I participated in:

Please, do check them out! I also want to thank the audiences who came, listened, and participated. Especially to the gentleman who stopped me after the It’s Never Too Late to Start Your Writer Journey. He talked about how he’d written erotic works (even being published in very prominent anthologies), but never felt he could go beyond the genre.  When he heard I was writing both SFF and erotica, it inspired him to begin his journey again.

Welcome back, fellow traveler. Hope to share a panel with you at the next Balticon.

  1. I’m so glad we were introduced after the short fire reading. I really enjoyed hearing you at panels and your questions when you were in the audience at other panels. Creating a shout-out post with links the minute you got home is very classy, and I agree that the moderators and other panelists were great.
