For anyone hanging about on my socials, you’ve probably heard about the line of tornadoes which tore through my part of Maryland on July 5th. The Capitol Weather Gang, our local paper’s weather crew, documented the event. (Free link) How close did they hit?
The line of storms followed the InterCounty Connector – a road which is just a few miles ahead of me, which I’ve traveled many times. I saw pictures of neighborhoods I drove through wrecked by the storms. The final line literally splits the distance between my home and my sister’s home, just fifteen minutes north.
Heavy weather, indeed.
Now, to more metaphorical storm fronts. The new anthology, Secret Identities, featuring my alter egotist’s short story “Secret Garden” is now up for pre-order.
Do pick it up and, if you order, leave a rating after you’ve read it. The more ratings, the more the holy algorithm (All Hail the Algorithm) will notice and recommend the book to others.
UPDATE 7.29.24: We have a new link for the Secret Identities anthology releasing tomorrow. If you pre-ordered the book, I don’t think your order still stands. But remember, we were only charging $0.99 to begin with! Pre-order your copy now! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DBJ47ND6/
A.J. Harris is working on another story – it’s in the red-line stage right now but has to be done very soon – and we will see if it makes it into another anthology. The pay on these books is not really all that much. It’ll cover a fancy dinner with my wife. But if they prove popular enough, I may need to think about where I focus my time.
Should I keep working on revising my novel and pitching to agents? Should I work on spicy novellas and self-publish?
Storms upcoming. Have to get ready.
